AdGirl Nightly: Dear Grammys

That’s what I said last night, before the show.

I watched it with Twitter. It’s all the rage these days. Just ask my homegirl and MuchMTV digi-marketer Casie Stewart.

I dream of will produce the show one day. I always knew I would. Until then, some thoughts on last night I’d like to call…

Dear Grammys: Think YOUNGER.

1. TBWA did a great job with http://www.wereallfans.com but the live show itself was lacking in social media integration.  Make people feel like they are actually there and give them a chance to participate, live from home. Refer to 106&Park for details.

2. DJ presence and award is a must. DJs are everything when it comes to breaking a record – why not have them present best new artist?

3. More artists with buzz as performers – Drake was a great start, keep going… I said think younger and DJs already, yes?

4. If you’re going to call out MySpace during the pre-show live feed so many times, collab with them next year and bring them to a better place than they currently hold in the social media space.

5. Explain how winners get chosen, show judging process, be transparent. Not pre-taped if possible, but at the show.

6. More genre collabsmash ups anyone? Think KeysnKrates.

7. Think about a more interesting and engaging way to present categories and nominees.

8. You are the most distinguished award show in the music industry. Don’t just end it with the expected, awkward and hurried “good night”. You can do better. I can do better for you.

9. If this is what you’re really about, screw exclusivity, embrace all genres of music, don’t give away all these in the pre-show, [I-said-it-before-and-I'll-say-it-again] think younger, make people feel like you’re really engaging them with all their genre-ical senses. Make them feel like you’re asking them to:

10. Congrats on taking the smart risk of accepting criticism and engaging in a public discussion this year. I know this was not the norm for the Academy, until yesterday.

And look at that, your ratings went up 35% from last year with 26.6 million viewers, the best since 2004.

This is only the beginning.

See you soon,

:AdGirl~

Although I did not watch the Grammy’s last night :( (I know missed a lot) I truly believe in the changes you feel the Grammy’s should make in order to get more viewer attention and can see how it can better it. It is alway best to think younger, young people are the future and the one’s we are trying to impress. They should appeal to all markets, have a bit of something for everything, especially in the social media sector.I’m sure you can make these minor improvements.

Your goal to producer the Grammy’s is inspiring…Go head girl ,get your dream!!:D because you’ve inspired me to get mine and more.
